Anna Kagan, MD PhD FACP FASN

Dr. Anna Kagan graduated Summa Cum Laude from Brandeis University with a Bachelor of Science in both Physics and Chemistry while being elected to the distinguished Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.  She received her Doctorate of Medicine and Doctorate of Philosophy at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she was inducted to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.  She completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the world renowned Massachusetts General Hospital.  Dr. Kagan then completed her Fellowship in Nephrology at Baylor College of Medicine.  

Dr. Kagan is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology and is a Specialist in Clinical Hypertension.  She is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology, a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American Society of Transplantation.  Dr. Kagan is one of two transplant nephrologists here at Houston Kidney Consultants, chairing the Transplant Medical Safety Quality Management committee for the Houston Methodist Hospital.  She is also an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at both Weill Cornell Medical College and the Institute of Academic Medicine at Houston Methodist Hospital.  

Dr. Kagan has received numerous accolades, being named a Top 300 Physician in Houston in 2012 by Health and Fitness Sports Magazine, receiving the Patients' Choice Award from Vitals.com in 2013 and being recognized as a Rising Star by Super Doctors from 2015 to 2017 as well as a Top Doctor in Houstonia Magazine in 2017

 

Benjamin J Lee, MD MAS FASN

Dr. Benjamin J. Lee graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Harvard College, where he was named a John Harvard Scholar and elected to the distinguished Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.  After obtaining his Doctorate of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Lee completed internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.  Dr. Lee subsequently completed his fellowship in Nephrology at UCSF while simultaneously obtaining a Master of Advanced Study in Clinical Research from the UCSF Departments of Epidemiology and Biostatistics.  At UCSF, he was named the 2015-2016 ACGME Clinical Fellow of the Year in Nephrology and honored with a Teaching Excellence Award for Cherished Housestaff (TEACH) and the Andy I. Choi Memorial Scholarship.  Dr. Lee is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology.

Dr. Lee has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and has presented his research at several American Society of Nephrology annual conferences.  He is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology.

 

Peter T Nguyen, MD FACP FASN

Dr. Peter Nguyen graduated with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin and received his medical degree from Texas Tech School of Medicine.  He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine where he was inducted to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.  Dr. Nguyen completed his fellowship in Nephrology at Baylor, serving as Chief Fellow during his final year.  He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology and is a Specialist in Clinical Hypertension.  

Dr. Nguyen is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology, a member of the American Society of Transplantation and a member of Renal Physicians Association.  He is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at both Weill Cornell Medical College and the Institute of Academic Medicine at Houston Methodist Hospital.  

Dr. Nguyen sits on and chairs a number of committees at Houston Methodist Hospital and the Houston Methodist Hospital System.  Most notably, he is a member of the Medical Executive Committee at Houston Methodist Hospital.  Dr. Nguyen also specializes in transplantation, working with the JC Walter Transplant Center at Houston Methodist Hospital.  He is the medical director of DaVita Galleria and DaVita Avian dialysis facilities.  

Among his accolades, Dr. Nguyen has been recognized as a Top 300 Physician in Houston in 2012 by Health and Fitness Sports Magazine, a Top Doctor in Houstonia Magazine from 2013-2015 and 2017-2018 and also as a Rising Star by Super Doctors in 2015 and 2016.

 

Juan Jorge Olivero, MD FASN

Dr. Juan Jorge Olivero received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin after graduating from Strake Jesuit College Preparatory.  He received his Doctorate of Medicine from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara and his Fifth Pathway Certificate from New York Medical College.  Dr. Olivero completed his internship and residency at Baylor College of Medicine.  He also received his Fellowship in Nephrology from Baylor.  

Dr. Olivero is board certified in Nephrology and is a certified Specialist in Clinical Hypertension.  He is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology and is certified by the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology in kidney ultrasonography.

Dr. Olivero is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at both Weill Cornell Medical College and The Institute of Academic Medicine at Houston Methodist Hospital.  He is the medical director of DaVita @ Home Dialysis and Home for Texas Dialysis as well as  the Nephrology inpatient unit at Houston Methodist Hospital.  Dr. Olivero serves on the DaVita Physicians Council at the national level.  He is on the By-laws Committee, Nominating Committee and chairs the Clinical Nutrition Subcommittee at Houston Methodist Hospital.  

Dr. Olivero was named a Top 300 Physician in Houston in 2012 by Health and Fitness Sports Magazine and was recognized as a Top Doctor by Houstonia Magazine in 2013.

Dr. Juan Jose Olivero completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, where he served as Chief Resident. He completed his training at BCM with his Fellowship in Nephrology.  

Having over 40 years of experience in Nephrology, Dr. Olivero is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at both Baylor College of Medicine and The University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston.  He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology and is a Specialist in Clinical Hypertension as appointed by the American Society of Hypertension.  

Dr. Olivero is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology.  He is the medical director at DaVita Med Center, one of the nation’s largest dialysis facilities, as well as DaVita Binz.  Dr. Olivero remains actively involved in the education of the Internal Medicine residents at Houston Methodist Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical College.  

Dr. Olivero has received numerous individual teaching and professional accolades, ranging from his time as a full-time faculty member at Baylor College of Medicine to his current position at Houston Methodist Hospital.  Dr. Olivero has once been voted by his peers to be amongst the best Nephrologists in Houston for 10 years consecutively.  He was the first recipient of the James Overstreet award at Houston Methodist Hospital, given annually to the physician voted to be the most compassionate and caring by the staff of the hospital.
